Mother & Child magazine has maintained its position as the leading authority in Egypt on pregnancy, baby & child care, nutrition, women’s health & well-being, and marriage, since 1995. With an editorial mix that is both entertaining and educational, the magazine has been able to captivate a continually growing audience, earning it the number one spot as the highest-circulating parenting publication on the market.
Mother & Child was first established in 1995 as Mother-to-Be, an English language magazine specializing in pregnancy and baby's first year. In 1999, its name was changed to Mother & Child to target a wider readership and an Arabic section was added. In 2003, the magazine was re-launched as two separate magazines: Mother & Child in English and Alam El Om Wal Tifl in Arabic.
In July 2008, Mother & Child re-launched the magazines, introducing a new concept to the market: 6 bilingual subject-specific guides, updated annually and offering readers all the information they need in one place, a one-of-a-kind idea to Egypt! The guides include 4 content-based guides covering the areas of Pregnancy & Baby, Raising a Healthy and Happy Child, Women's Health and Wellbeing, and Family Nutrition, in addition to 2 listings-based guides: Schools & Nurseries and Activities, Stores & Services (including a bonus Summer Activities section).
As part of our mission to better serve the community and provide valuable information to women in Egypt that is aimed at enhancing and enriching their lives and the lives of their children, Mother & Child has made the decision to distribute all its publications FREE OF CHARGE. As pioneers in this field and because Egyptian families have limited access to accurate content, content that is typically available free of charge in many countries, we feel an obligation towards the community and recognize the growing need for content like ours and the essential role women play in raising the next generation of Egyptians.
The guides are distributed free of charge in selected specialized stores, bookstores, pharmacies, clinics, nurseries and other outlets throughout Cairo and Alexandria.
